SERENE SPY GETS BOTANICAL
We were invited to Eden Hall Day Spa to celebrate their Grown Alchemist Spa Garden Takeover - and it was every bit as summery as it sounds. Blending botanical beauty, clean science and holistic wellbeing, the experience takes place in the modern outdoor spa garden, complete with pop-up alfresco treatment room.
Our day began with a delicious lunch before exploring the extensive facilities. The Spa Garden’s toasty hydrotherapy pool quickly became a firm favourite. Don’t miss the outdoor sauna with its window overlooking the spa garden, and the quiet zone relaxation room next to it.
The Grown Alchemist Regenerator Facial - delivered by the talented Maria - was also a stand-out moment, combining a soothing massage-based cleanse and exfoliation ritual with facial cupping and ice-cold cryotherapy roller balls. The result? Youthful, radiant-looking skin.
SCARLET SPY BARES ALL
Although my toddler-wrangling days are over, I now have an eczema-prone tween with ultra-sensitive skin. Enter Baby Bare Bubbles, a beautifully gentle range of hair and skincare products created with little ones in mind.
Crafted from natural, vegan-friendly ingredients - and zero animal testing - this charming collection is designed specifically for delicate, reactive skin. The pretty, clear bottles feature whimsical illustrations, while the Freesia scent of the Baby Bare Bubbles Dandelion Dream Luxury Moisturiser (250ml, £10.99) created in Grasse (the world capital of perfumery, no less) is subtle enough to pass my daughter’s strict ‘no strong smells’ test (I found it divine).
The creamy white lotion glided on like silk and sank in effortlessly, leaving her skin soft, soothed and without a hint of irritation or stickiness. A rare win - and a unanimous thumbs up.
Even better? You can now experience Baby Bare Bubbles kids spa treatments at the Lucknam Park.
SERENE SPY GETS TANGOED
I visited the Omorovicza Mayfair Institute for The Andrassy Skin Therapy Session - an incredible 90-minute facial with the brilliant therapist Fari. I left glowing and clutching a trio of products I’ve used daily ever since: Daily Vitamin C (30ml, £110), Midnight Renewal (30ml, £150), and the Rejuvenating Night Cream (50ml, £140).
The Daily Vitamin C is a lightweight, gel-like serum that sinks in post-cleanse and pre-moisturise. It’s packed with brightening vitamin C and gives my morning skincare routine a serious glow-up. Come evening, I reach for Midnight Renewal - a yellow-toned serum thanks to Retinal (aka vitamin A) - applying two pumps to face and neck after makeup removal. I finish with a layer of the buttery Rejuvenating Night Cream, which melts into the skin like silk.
Bonus: a little really does go a long way, making the price justifiable. These elegant frosted glass bottles now take pride of place on my dressing table.
SYBARITIC SPY GETS THE ROYAL TREATMENT
One thing you learn as you get older is how important it is to invest in good skincare. I took a trip to Weavers House Spa in Lavenham, where they specialise in treatments using Templespa’s Truffle range.
The Body Truffle (150ml, £65) was used for the exclusive ‘weaving massage’ in my Weavers Hug treatment; the Skin Truffle (50ml, £100) for my facial. The texture of products matters: too thin and my skin is left feeling tight; too thick and it just sits on top. The Skin Truffle has a whipped texture, so feels light on the skin. The ingredients? Pure gold, truffles and diamonds, no less.
The Body Truffle smells divine with gentle hints of mimosa and cedarwood, while the rose quartz helps give the skin an instant glow. Other ingredients include Champagne, silk and gold to ensure you look – and feel – a million dollars.
SERENE SPY COOLS DOWN
After a long break from exercise, I threw myself into a social netball league; my knees were not impressed (even stairs became a struggle for this Spa Spy). So, the hunt for a soothing remedy began. Enter Voya's new Cryo-Cooling Gel (100ml, £33.00), a refreshing menthol-based body gel designed to ease tired, aching limbs.
Housed in a chic bronze squeezy, tube and tucked inside an earthy green box, the gel has a zingy scent that hits you the moment you open it - like a breath of fresh, minty air. A little goes a long way: simply massage a small amount into sore areas in a circular motion. The soothing cooling sensation is almost immediate.
This gel has quickly become part of my new netball recovery ritual using Feel The Heat (100ml, £33.00), a warming arnica gel pre-game, a Detoxifying Seaweed Bath (400g £24.00) to relax muscles post-match, and the Cryo-Cooling Gel before bed to restore and refresh.
