From birdwatching and red-light yoga to dancefloors and digital spirituality, June's wellness trends are all centred around one thing: nervous system regulation - helping us feel calmer, healthier and more connected.
BIRDWATCHING IS THE NEW MINDFULNESS

Move over meditation apps - birdwatching is one of the UK's fastest-growing wellness hobbies. The RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch attracted almost 600,000 participants this year, while more than 12 million UK households now feed birds in their gardens. Increasingly embraced by Gen Z, who are swapping screen time for a spot of twitching - proving that one of the most effective wellbeing tools might simply be looking up and noticing nature.
TOUCHLESS THERAPY ARRIVES AT AQUA SANA FOREST SPA

Aqua Sana Forest Spa at Woburn Forest, Bedfordshire, has unveiled its new Forest Serenity Suite, introducing touchless therapy to the spa for the first time. Using immersive sound, therapeutic vibrations and forest-inspired sensory experiences, the treatment is designed to calm the nervous system and promote deep relaxation. One session is even said to deliver restorative relaxation equivalent to up to four hours of deep sleep. Sign us up.
THE SCIENCE IS IN: CLUBBING IS GOOD FOR YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM

Anyone who has ever let loose on a dance floor knows how good it feels – and now there's scientific evidence to back it up. A new study by Music and Movement is Medicine (MiM) found participants experienced an 18.5% increase in heart rate variability during guided sessions involving electronic music, breathing, movement and dance – a sign the nervous system was shifting into a calmer, more regulated state. Participants also reported lower anxiety levels and increased feelings of joy and connection.
SPRITZ AND SPA AT MANOR HOUSE (ALSAGER)

To celebrate the arrival of summer, Manor House Alsager in Cheshire has launched what it's calling the UK's first Three-Spritz Spa Experience, pairing a full day of spa access with a flight of seasonal cocktails, including Aperol Spritz, Limoncello Spritz and Hugo Spritz. The day includes lunch and access to the pretty spa garden, complete with two swim-up bars - we’ll raise a glass (or three) to that.
AI IS GETTING SPIRITUAL

Digital spirituality is on the rise, with searches for AI-powered spiritual guidance, astrology tools and virtual wellness support growing rapidly. From tarot readings and astrology reports to manifestation journals and moon ritual kits, consumers are increasingly blending ancient spiritual practices with modern technology. Add in AI coaches and emotion-tracking platforms, and it's clear that self-discovery is entering a whole new digital era.

Carden Park is bringing back its popular Women's Only Spa Days this summer, starting in June. Following guest demand, the dedicated experiences offer female guests exclusive access to the award-winning spa facilities, thermal experiences and spa garden in a women-only environment.

Designed to tackle signs of fatigue, stress and environmental damage, this is science-led skincare that we can't wait to try.
