After what felt like the wettest of winters, May could not have come at a better time. With the sun finally sporting its hat, the birds chirping and smell of roses filling the air, all thoughts turn to life’s niceties, including BBQ’s, garden bevvies and, if you’re like us, spas. Some of our spa partners are getting into the spring spirit, too; here’s who, and how:
Quaff rosé at Grantley Hall
The team behind the Three Graces Spa at Grantley Hall has teamed up with French wine producer Chateau d’Esclans to supply a portfolio of seasonal plonks for its Whispering Angel Terrace retreat, now in its second year. Taking place at the Riverside Bar until 30 September, spa goers can order a glass of Whispering Angel Côtes de Provence Rosé from the wooden bar before taking a seat on a pretty terrace laden with white bistro tables and chairs for two, large umbrellas, seasonal blooms and views of the River Skell. Peachy.
Book a cabana at Pennyhill Park
If you fancy embracing the outdoors but want some privacy, The Spa at Pennyhill Park’s new cabanas could be the answer. These three-sided wooden structures contain copper roll-top baths, stocked fridges, tea and coffee-making facilities, comfy loungers, huge mirrors to ensure you look Insta-ready and mounds of fluffy towels. Each named after a particular herb growing in the garden, the cabanas – of which there are four – are positioned diving distance from the spa’s large pool for leisurely swims on a whim. Feeling peckish? Order food from your cabana comfort.
Get your Glow on at Seaham Hall
When it comes to seasonal treats, Serenity Spa at Seaham Hall has gone all out with its Glow Getter Full Day Spa Escape running until 30 June. Start the day with a welcome drink before slipping into your fluffy robe and slippers to make full use of the indoor and outdoor facilities, including the Spa Garden. The Signature Top-to-Toe Ritual included combines a 30-minute tailored back massage and a 30-minute Temple Spa Vitamin C facial; the two-course lunch at Ozone will nourish the soul.
Get summer-ready legs at The Royal Crescent Hotel
Get those pins ready for their annual unveiling at The Royal Crescent’s Spa & Bath House. designed to complement the classic Bath architecture of the hotel using natural woods, pebbles, slate and bamboo. The Temple Spa Foot and Leg Energiser treatment includes skin brushing to help eliminate excess fluids, get the circulation going and improve the appearance of cellulite (yes please), a thigh and calf massage using warm oils, and an invigorating foot massage using Temple Spa’s signature AAAHHH! Balm, with its invigorating eucalyptus scent. Ta-dah….
Book a Blossom & Bloom day at Armathwaite Hall
You’ll need to hop to it to enjoy Armathwaite Hall’s Blossom & Bloom Spa Day, available until 31 May. During their day, spa goers can make use of the spa’s large indoor pool - with full-height windows showing off Bassenthwaite Lake and the Skiddaw mountains - outdoor pool and toasty sauna; enjoy a 55-minute Voya or Temple Spa treatment of choice; and tuck into a two-course lunch at the Courtyard Brasserie. Among the available treatments is the spa’s exclusive Organic Walker’s Recovery experience, perfect after a long Lake District ramble.
