Plants have been used to treat the skin and enhance wellbeing for centuries. So, it’s no surprise to hear that botanical beauty products are having a renaissance. Beautifully scented, they shape spa gardens and, of course, create products to be used in treatments and skincare routines.
From prickly pear and Blue Tansy flower to rose seed oil and Turmeric, we are seeing a shift towards natural ingredients that are gentle on both our skin and the environment.

Comfort Zone Sacred Nature Cleansing Balm (110ml, £35)
Key botanicals: Organic Buriti Oil
Part of Comfort Zone’s new vegan Sacred Nature range, this gentle oily cleansing balm uses organic buriti and almond oil to remove dirt and make-up from the face and eyes, without stripping essential moisture.
The bright orange, organic Buriti oil is extracted from the fruit of a palm tree that grows in swamp-like conditions in tropical South America. Known as the ‘tree of life’, the fruit blooms from December to April and is loaded with high levels of antioxidants, vitamin E and has the highest natural occurrence of pro-vitamin A.
Apply a small amount of the fragrance-free cleanser with the wooden spatula, massage into the face and neck and rinse. The oily balm will leave skin soft, silky smooth and hydrated.
Temple Spa Truffle De-Light Hydra-Gel Moisturiser (50ml, £90)

The newest edition to the Truffle collection, Truffle De-Light Hydra-Gel Moisturiser comes in the decadent bronze coloured tub with gold writing and easy pump dispenser for optimal moisturising. It feels like silk on the skin and can be used before make-up as a primer. Its lightweight consistency makes it perfect for the spring and summer months– leaving skin hydrated and glow-y.
The botanical banquet of ingredients includes: champagne extract which gently exfoliates, black truffle to brighten the skin tone, and kombucha to improve tone and texture. Prickly pear extract soothes irritation, whilst strawberry seed oil purifies and refreshes. Botanical caviar is also on the menu. CBD is a booming ingredient in botanical skincare. So much so, that the CBD skincare market is forecasted to grow at an annual rate of 21.47% between 2019 and 2028.
