We Spa Spies come in a variety of ages and sizes, as do most of the population. So, we hit upon the idea of writing about spa from our different life stages – not just reviewing treatments and spas but deciding what we want to achieve this year and seeing how spa can help us on our individual journeys. Each month, our Spa Spies will make a lifestyle change or try something new then report back in their individual blogs. You can follow them here

Eco Millennial is a 20something, starting work at GSG with a university debt, so looking for ways to spa greenly and frugally. She wants to explore how to be sustainable without sacrificing luxury.

New Mum is an editor and project manager in her early 30s, juggling work and motherhood with trying to make some space for herself. She will do anything for a good night’s sleep.

Life Begins has just hit 50 and, with two grown teenagers, has more freedom to do what she wants -- whatever that may be. She is a writer at GSG and trained psychotherapist.

The Chairman is a CEO and medical journalist in her mid-sixties who appreciates the finer things in life. Having suffered a major spine injury, she wants to improve her energy and flexibility.

We all want to hit 2020 feeling fitter, stronger and happier, but depending on where we are in life, our needs and approaches will be different. Money is an issue for many of us, time for all of us, but we recognise that self-care is important for long-term health and therefore worth the investment. We will be consulting the best spas and wellness practitioners for inspiration and advice and trying things out to see if they are worth splashing out on. We will also be sharing everything that inspires us, from books and podcasts to products and lifehacks.

Wellbeing is such a huge industry, which is what makes it a rich source but also a maze of true and false information. There are so many diet and exercise fads, as well as conflicting advice, so we will aim to tread the line between anecdotal (our personal experience) and evidence based research. That doesn't mean we will rule out alternative and complimentary treatments or ideas, just that we will endeavour to give a balanced view.

Whether you are a working mother or grandmother, an almost-empty nester, or a graduate starting out, we hope you will follow our Spa Spies throughout 2019 – who knows, you might be inspired by how to spa your way to a better life.
