We're always excited to hear about spas who go the extra mile when it comes to being environmentally-friendly. So we were delighted to read about Coworth Park, part of the Dorchester Collection, which launches in September 2010. Nestled in 200 acres of parkland, just an hour away from London, Coworth Park aims to be one of the UK's top eco hotels.
Coworth Park will construct its own underground energy centre with a Bio Mass heating plant and grow its own renewable fuel source: willow. All of which is well and good, we love the idea of luxury that doesn't cost the earth.
But what we're most excited about is the launch of Coworth Park's eco-spa, built over two floors, mostly from timber, with its very own living roof! Plants such as St John's wort, thyme, chamomile and lavender will be grown and used for natural treatments in the spa, and also in the restaurant. Treatments will include 100% organic therapies.
For fans of eco-designer, Anya Hindmarch, there's an extra treat in store if you book for a spa break pre-launch; a limited edition handbag, crammed with luxe-goodies!
