Wellness at Work Trend: Browsing Spa Deals

In the run up to the Good Spa Guide Awards 2019 (Nov 11), things are getting so busy at GSG HQ there’s barely any time to spa. The horror! Thus, the Spa Spies have resorted to trawling Travelzoo for holiday and spa deals whenever there’s a spare second – call it a form of desk meditation or daydreaming, but it makes us feel very calm and happy. Some of the deals are so good, we have already advance booked for some post-award R&R (my personal top Travelzoo daydream: the Grand Hyatt in Berlin with its 8th Floor Spa).

Vegan Skincare: Elemental Herbology’s new face oil

Vegan skincare is the wellbeing biggie, so our Eco Millennial Spa Spy is all over Elemental Herbology’s Water Soothe Facial Oil (15ml £30). The oil contains a blend of 14 nourishing plant and essential oils which help restore the skins barrier function, protecting the skin from environmental damage. It also helps prevent the early signs of aging, so is suitable for younger skins.  It is also safe to use during pregnancy. Match this with the Water Soothe Bath and Body Oil (£28, 145 ml)

Garden-to-Spa

At a recent visit to Dormy House, we enjoyed a tour of the new garden which supplies the ingredients for your spa lunch and smoothies - a welcome new trend in sustainable spa-ing. Brand new £10 million spa development The Spa at Carden Park in Chester (pictured below) is due to open this winter and is tapping into the garden-to-spa concept big time. Set apart from Carden Park Hotel within its 1,000 acres of grounds, the brand spanking new spa will include two vitality pools, a beauty lounge, a large multi-sensory spa garden with a hydrotherapy pool, hot tubs, fire pits, an outdoor sauna with private ‘secret garden’ relaxation spaces and Bollinger champagne bar. Natural skincare brand Elemental Herbology are designing the full range of face and body treatments based on the Five Element Theory in traditional Chinese Medicine and treatments will incorporate freshly picked herbs from The Spa at Carden’s very own wellbeing garden.
