Pearly Cow resides in No. 1 and is a restaurant devoted to respecting what thrives in the Dales, moors, vales and nearby North Sea. They serve the very best slow-farmed meats, just-picked plants and sea-fresh seafood cooked over fire or served on ice.
Lunch and dinner feature star ingredients in classics, interpretations, sharing dishes, and divine desserts. And kids have their own Pearly Calves menu. Afternoon tea is afternoon sea – a very fresh take on this timeless treat paired with bottomless rosé. Join us on Fridays between 12-4pm for delicious tacos & cocktails, whilst on Sundays, traditional roasts bring a beautiful close to the week.
Plus you can enjoy teas/coffee, drinks and afternoon tea in the Bar and Marmalade Lounge.
There are 38 lovable bedrooms, including three standout suites are dotted around the building’s three floors. Each one has its quirks courtesy of the building’s heritage detailing and our interior designer’s wonder-inspiring style.

A short 10 minute stroll from York station and within sight of the Minster.
There is a private carpark for hotel guests at the back of the hotel, priced at £20 per car, per night which must be booked prior to arrival.
For day guests not staying at the hotel, there’s also a public car park (Marygate Car Park) just 5 minutes’ walk away.
All treatment rooms are on one floor, and accessible by a lift.
