Dogmersfield Park near Hook in Hampshire is set in 500 acres of historic grounds dating back to the 11th Century. Now a hotel, the building is Georgian and red brick and located in a vast, actively agricultural estate. The international hotel group, Four Seasons, have tastefully extended and decorated the hotel so that it is now positively sprawling. It is a quintessentially English-dolls-house meets-rural-and urban-retreat. The spa is set in one of the older parts of the estate – the 18th Century stable block, which measures a staggering 27,000 square foot. The reception, make-up and beauty studio, fitness centre and pool are very impressive indeed – very light, very clean, very high-spec.
