I've heard a lot about mineral make-up but, as a bit of a foundation fiend, I was doubtful of the real ability of a powder to give me the coverage I want. Well, it is nice to be proven wrong every now and again!
Prestige skin loving minerals gentle finish mineral powder foundation (£12.30) allows you to build up coverage gently and subtly. You can add a little extra around problem areas, whilst leaving other parts of your face with just a minimal sweep. I first tried this foundation when I had just moved house. I couldn't believe that I still looked fresh-faced at the end of the day!
Prestige also do a subtle natural-shade blusher (£13.49). Sassy Spy looked dewy and glowing when she wore this to the office, and found it was just perfect for a "natural" look.
Shy Spy swears by mineral powders - and in her own words she told me about her favourites:
"Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil is a finishing powder that pretty much matches any skin tone, literally like an invisible, mattifying veil! It's not cheap, but it feels wonderfully light and I definitely get fewer breakouts after using this powder.
If the sun's out and you're worried about looking a bit pale and pasty, Lily Lolo's Waikiki Bronzer adds a perfect glow. It's a little bit shimmery, like a facial highlighter, but in a subtle way. And it never makes you look a fake orange colour! Amazing!"
