Pretty much everyone at Good Spa Guide HQ knows they should be making lifestyle changes to live well; really looking after our skin, eating a healthier diet, getting more exercise and giving ourselves some much needed down time (ok, we're pretty good at that last one). But we all end up lacking in at least one of the three other areas.

We have plenty of excuses from "I just want to finish writing up this review…" to "I've got a cake to make for my daughter's birthday". So when news of Armathwaite Hall's LIFE Regimen arrived in our inboxes, we decided that a programme that walked us through the lifestyle changes step by step was worth looking into.

LIFE Regimen Programme is an intriguing addition to Armathwaite's menu of treatments and programmes. According to the spa the programme is about encouraging people to accept their age and work appropriately to enjoy consistent everyday health. No more fighting nature with "anti" products and solutions or conflicting advice from health gurus.

The regimen nurtures four core aspects of a healthy lifestyle – skin, diet, exercise and rest; giving clear and concise information on how you can boost these four key elements. The programme was inspired by luxury spa skincare company [ comfort zone ]’s new Skin Regimen brand, and has developed alongside beliefs for a simple and positive approach to making lifestyle improvements. Three versions of the programme are available at Armathwaite Hall: LIFE Regimen Spa Day, Retreats, and Membership.

The spa day package aims to ‘kick-start’ ongoing health, and gives you the chance to experience a day of wellness including spa experiences, personal training, treating your skin correctly, and attending a Life Regimen Workshop.

The two or three day retreats have been designed to expand on this and help already committed individuals change their lifestyle.  If you're serious about improving your longevity and are interested in positive ageing long-term you can take out an annual membership. Spa days start at £125; retreats are from £895 per person sharing; and annual membership is £975.

We love the lakeside setting of Armathwaite Hall, and with plenty of fresh air, beautiful walks and total spa luxury we’d like to have an excuse to visit more often. Their new LIFE Regimen Programmes might just be the excuse we need.
