Good Spa Guide 2009 editionNow working on the 2009 edition -- our best ever. The Spies are slaving away making sure all the info is accurate even as we speak. And this really will tell you which are the best spas in Britain...

Many people want to visit a spa but are unsure about what lies behind those entrance doors. Are you going to find a marble palace of hushed luxury with a salt-water ocean and a Terracotta army of therapists, or a renovated scout hut with a paddling pool the size of a postage stamp? Or perhaps you have a favourite spa but aren't sure whether to try the new one that's just opened down the road… After all, me-time doesn't come cheap and it's hard to unwind when everything costs more than you bargained for. That's why we put together this book.

The unbiased and rigorous Spies from The Good Spa Guide have travelled the length and breadth of the UK, sampling everything from algae wraps to zen shiatsu along the way. In this book, they reveal the best spas they found. The Spies scrutinise every aspect of a spa, from the cleanliness of showers to the fluffiness of towels. They rate each spa according to the industry-standard bubble system which ranges from one (Let me out!) to five (Shut the doors, I’m not leaving). Here, you'll find only the spas that the Spies have rated at 4 or 5 bubbles.

Lavishly illustrated with colour photographs of the UK's loveliest spas throughout, our print edition will ensure that you skip from spa to spa on perfectly pedicured twinkies.

Spy Likes:

Warm floors when you put your bare feet upon them; heated treatment beds; soft towels; attention to detail, so that your treatment room looks and smells beautiful when you arrive in it.

Spy Dislikes:

Cold floors when you put your bare feet upon them; therapists who use your treatment time to write up a list of product "recommendations" that they hope you will purchase.
