We reviewed Su Man Awakening Eye Uplift (£60 for 15ml).
First impressions
The eye cream comes in a cute white cardboard box with gold patterns and the gold Su man logo. Inside is a glass pot with a gold lid. The product is a pale dusky pink and odourless.
What’s in it
The main ingredients, as advertised on the box, are dragon’s blood extract and eyeliss.
The dragon’s blood tree is native to the Amazon rainforest where locals have long used it for its anti-aging and skin healing properties. Eyeliss is a natural protein peptide blend. It’s anti-inflammatory properties are said to reduce puffiness and increase elasticity.
Usage
Su Man grew up in rural Taiwan and it made me smile to read the instruction to use a ‘rice-size amount’. It also advises applying using a zig zag movement; having been lucky enough to have one of Su Man’s facials recently, she advices using the same technique in person. For those needing some guidance, you can watch Su Man demonstrating this technique on her website.
The product is smooth and velvety and is a delight to put on your skin. It absorbs very easily and is non-greasy.
Effects
The blurb on the box says that the eye cream soothes and revives tired eyes. The Awakening Eye Uplift was really put to the test as I was road-testing the product during my annual hay fever hell, despite rubbing the skin around my eyes a lot they still look remarkably fresh. My skin also stayed moisturised throughout the day without the heaviness of greasier eye creams.
Value
This is a really good non-greasy product that you can use day and night, so no need to buy two products. It will last a very long time if you only use a rice sized amount at a time!
Final verdict
The product has a lovely texture and I really like the Su Man philosophy of skin care. So yes, I would buy this again.
