5 Bubble Spa 2020

Rockliffe Hall

A red-brick five-star hotel with a huge, luxurious spa and spa butlers on hand to tend to your every whim (within reason, of course). Indulge yourself in the thermal bathing suite – with its tepidarium, caldarium, infrared room, salt-steam room, Roman sauna, tropicarium, hydropool and ice fountain – or relax on the warm heated beds, feel invigorated by the bucket drench shower, enjoy the foot spa or take a dip in the 20m pool. The treatment menu offers holistic spa rituals and results driven treatments using Neom, OPI and Comfort Zone. The modern Spa Garden has an infinity edged outdoor pool, glass-fronted sauna, heated loungers and relaxing day beds. Dine in Nu Sana, Rockliffe Hall’s newly launched casual eatery, where in-robe dining is welcomed and menus are focussed on nourishing, feel-good food.

What others are saying

"Have been to Rockliffe Hotel and Spa many times over the last five years - romantic getaways with my partner, with family and stayed for business too. The Spa has, unfortunately, gone really downhill post-covid. The whole experience is poor, with a Council-owned Swimming Pool like experience throughout. Our last experience paying extra for the Outdoor Spa was ruined by a large group of ‘Girls’ who were loud, spent most of the time taking selfies in the outdoor pool area ( no respect for those that did not want to be snapped ) and were drinking very heavily. We commented to staff, but they replied that the Hotel encourages this as it improves their social media reach… Indoor facilities need a good clean and some updating, with Changing rooms being quite poorly maintained. Rockliffe used to be a by-word for luxury, sadly not anymore ????"

"We went to Rockliffe Hall to celebrate a 40th birthday. The spa was lovely, plenty of loungers. I love all the different rooms so it doesn’t appear too busy. The spa garden was just to die for! Left the spa feeling happy, relaxed and dreamy. Would definitely go back "

"I came to Rockliffe with my mam and sister for a girly spa day and overnight stay. We were so excited but unfortunately were very disappointed with the spa facilities. There were lots of birds flying and nesting in the outdoor spa area. Were were enjoying the outdoor hot tub but quickly had to get out once the bubbles had stopped as we realised the hot tub was full of bird droppings. Myself also ended up with bird droppings in my hair, which my sister noticed when we got out the hot tub. There were also bird droppings on most of the outdoor sun lounges which stopped us from sitting on them and outdoor surroundings. We informed the spa manager about our concerns but we didn’t feel as if we were taken seriously, we were told that unfortunately this was a nature issue and there was not a lot they could do. This was very disappointing and ruined our stay as we would not expect bird droppings in the hot tub of a five star luxurious hotel. The fridge also wasn’t working in our apartment. The staff advised that they would get maintenance to look at it the next day, which was when we were leaving. We had to make do with ice buckets for our drinks. We complained again and eventually got a free bottle of wine later in the evening. After also talking with the reception manager on check out and expressing our concerns, we were offered some money off the final bill. In total we complained five times to various members of staff about our concerns but didn’t feel our concerns were taken seriously. Such a shame as the massage was amazing. All of us felt very let down as we did not get what we paid for. We will not be coming back to Rockliffe Hall."

"My daughter and I have a Spa Day here 3 or 4 times a year. It has a wonderful ambience and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, which quickly put us at ease.. We prefer brunch as that leaves us time for a treatment, use of spa, swim, chat and relax. It's a really great way to get together and wind down. The nicest one we have found within a 50 mile radius !"
