The Good Spa Guide took the opportunity to ask renowned London facialist Vaishaly (just before she gave birth) about her "Experience". We sampled this earlier in 2013 at the resort where the treatment was launched: Four Seasons Resort Seychelles. We also asked if Vaishaly had any helpful hints on daily skincare, for those of us not popping off to the Indian Ocean any time soon.

What are the most important elements in an everyday skincare routine?

"Cleanse, moisturise with an SPF, use a serum/night cream in the evening, and massage every day. Your cleanser should be one that does not strip or dry the surface of the skin. This is the most important product to get right. Massage each product into the skin with firm circular movements all over, as if you’re giving yourself a mini facial every day."

What made you want to create the Vaishaly experience?

"Clients of mine always requested that I should create the same experience they get with the facial but for the body. I, too, felt that, whilst many treatments available to guests in spas were very good, they weren't amazing, or completely different. I wanted to create something that guests have never experienced before on a mental, emotional and physical level, and especially for those who really find it hard to mentally switch off. This is what I worked towards creating the Vaishaly Experience."

How did you formulate the Vaishaly experience?

"The root of all our problems is the state of one's mind. Calming our minds has a direct effect on our health, which then has a knock-on effect on many other ailments, skin problems, and so on. I wanted to formulate a treatment that spa guests experienced on many levels. I did this through my training and knowledge of cranial-sacral work. With this treatment we 'tap' into the area of the problem and let the body take over and transport the energy where it needs it for healing. So each guest’s treatment will always be individual to them, and every treatment they have, they will always experience something different. Guests will receive whatever their body needs on the day of treatment.

I tested this treatment on my own therapists who work for me and on clients. Every single person was completely blown away, and they all said that they had never ever experienced anything like that before; they all had experiences to feed back on. They felt tingling and release on old injuries in different parts of their body. If they came in with a bad back, after the treatment, it was gone. They'd not mentioned any of their ailments or problems to me before the treatment but found that a lot of the time it had gone or was minimised."

What made you decide that the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles was the perfect place to launch the Vaishaly Experience?

"The ambience and the quality of both the Four Seasons resort, and the location, made it an easy decision to launch there. I wanted guests to experience the treatment in a relaxed location, such as this, and then crave it on returning to busy cities like London and have it there, too."

What's been the feedback from customers?

"Very positive indeed. Just as I wanted. They had never experienced anything like it before and were completely blown away with what they felt during the treatment. I’m thrilled!"

What's next from Vaishaly (apart from your lovely baby)?

"Increasing the Vaishaly Skincare range with new products which we've been holding back on. Watch this space..."

Hot tip! If we could all do one thing to stay looking good, what would you say that should be?

"Massage, massage, massage your skin every day! All you need are your hands, it doesn't cost you any money, and it's a proven natural way to keep looking good!"
